ATL Veggie Burger Judgement Dayyyyy: Yeah! Burger

You may have noticed there hasn’t been a veggie burger post in a while. This is because I went and had my first 20161104_201208-1annual physical in the last 10 years of my life recently – luckily all results were a-ok – unluckily they weighed me and I found out I weigh 10 pounds more than I thought I did. I’m not one for scales and numbers but oof! I’m now officially lying on my license and I didn’t even know it! So I have been taking a break from the burgers and you may notice some more healthy recipes on here as I try to get myself to replace that delicious piece of french stick with a less delicious (but still yummy) stick of celery. It’s been going ok so far but I have not been super strict as I don’t believe in that nonsense, my belief is that if your jeans are fitting a little tight, fit in an extra walk and an apple for a while until they fit better…20161104_201004unless you have a food blog in which you really do have a social obligation to stuff your face with the occasional burger.

We went to Yeah Burger this week, and I’m just gonna go ahead and be a total cheeseball and say yeah, burger! It was so good that I was like, screw taking notes I’m just gonna enjoy this burger so I apologize if this post lacks details! They have two different veggie burger options, one vegan, one veggie. We got one of each with the works (cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, etc), some fries, and roasted cauliflower (because nick said he wanted to openly renounce the brussels sprout fad with this order <3 ) and their signature sauce on the side. Also a beer and a wine that I actually like to buy at home so that was a bonus (Santa Julia organic malbec). The ordering process is as overwhelming to me as it always is when you go to one of those order first deals – you get handed a menu with 1 million items and they immediately ask you what you want. Luckily this time its a burger so its more straight forward but I was still was sounding like Milton from Office Space.

20161104_201040We sat by the bar area watching the traffic on North Highland which was fun, the drinks came (wine came out in one of those cute baby carafes) and the food followed really soon after. My burger, the veggie, was better than Nicks, the vegan, (no surprises there, hah just a little playful jab for you veegs), his was more of a black bean patty and mine was more like a mixed veg one. The cauliflower was well cooked and seasoned, the fries were crispy and tasty, the burgers themselves were well seasoned and nicely balanced. It was all just really solid, I am excited to go back and have yet another experience chomping down a burger and supplying a really terrible review because I am too busy enjoying it.

Nick just mentioned that you would think if a sit down fast food restaurant could manage to do this en masse then a small boutique restaurant charging 3-times as much could do it for their 10 ‘well -considered’ entrees. Also extra brownie points to them for being a generally eco-friendly, non-gmo, having a vegan and a gluten free etc, etc menu – they even have kombucha! If you are going to go out for the burger place with this model, I would definitely say to go ahead and skip to Yeah Burger for the best one. 4.5 out of 5.
